Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated 11 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-11

This policy is part of our Terms of Service. It applies to everyone who uses Bazm: organisers, their teams and everyone who takes part in a conference. It exists to keep the platform safe, lawful and usable for everybody.

1. Content you must not post, send or publish

  • Anything illegal, or that helps or encourages someone to break the law.
  • Threats, harassment, bullying, or abuse directed at a person or a group, including abuse based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or disability.
  • Sexually explicit material, or anything sexual involving a child.
  • Other people’s private information published without their agreement, including contact details, photographs and identity documents.
  • Material that infringes someone else’s copyright, trade mark or other rights, or that you have no right to share.
  • Statements you know to be false that could harm someone, and impersonation of a person or organisation.
  • Malware, or links to it.

2. Things you must not do

  • Use the attendee directory, messages or meeting requests to send unsolicited advertising, to recruit for something unrelated to the conference, or to keep contacting someone who has asked you to stop or has blocked you.
  • Collect other participants’ details by scraping, by automated means or by copying the directory, or use details you see on Bazm for anything other than the conference they belong to.
  • Register, submit or vote using a false identity, someone else’s email address without their agreement, or automated scripts.
  • Use someone else’s badge, QR code, ticket or private link, or pass yours to someone else, unless the organiser allows it.
  • Record or redistribute a session, a paper or another participant’s content without the right to do so.

3. Rules for email sent through Bazm

Organisers who send email through Bazm must:

  • send only to people they are allowed to email under the law that applies to them, and never to a bought, rented or scraped list;
  • identify themselves truthfully, and not disguise the sender or the subject of an email;
  • leave the unsubscribe link in marketing and announcement emails, and stop emailing people who use it;
  • not use Bazm to send email unrelated to their conference or organisation.

All organisers send through the same email service, so one sender’s spam complaints harm delivery for everyone. We pause campaign sending for an organiser whose emails draw too many complaints, and remove addresses that bounce or complain from future sends.

4. Security and fair use of the platform

  • Do not try to get into an account, a conference, a file or data that is not yours, or to get around a limit, a paywall or a security control.
  • Do not probe or test the security of Bazm without our written agreement. If you believe you have found a vulnerability, tell us at contact@bazm.io and give us reasonable time to fix it before telling anyone else.
  • Do not disrupt the service: no flooding, no denial-of-service, no automated traffic beyond what an ordinary user would generate.
  • Do not copy, decompile or reverse engineer the software, or build a competing product from it, except where the law gives you that right regardless of contract.
  • Do not resell or sublicense Bazm without our written agreement.
  • Do not use Bazm for an event whose purpose is unlawful, or to process payments for anything other than the conference.

5. What happens if this policy is broken

Posts and messages pass through a word filter that hides abusive language until a moderator has looked at it. Organisers and the moderators they appoint can hide or remove content in their conference and can warn, mute or ban a participant from its community features.

Depending on how serious the breach is, we may remove content, pause an organiser’s email sending, unpublish a conference, suspend or close an account, and report unlawful activity to the authorities. Where we reasonably can, we explain what we have done and why, and you can ask us to look again by writing to contact@bazm.io.

6. Reporting a problem

You can report a post, a message or a person from inside the product; the report goes to that conference’s moderators. To report something to us directly, including content you believe infringes your rights, write to contact@bazm.io with a link to it and a short explanation.
